How to optimize the layout of the smart rack

When using the smart rack, how to lay it out specifically? Let the editor of the garlic smart rack manufacturer take you to understand it together.

1. Demand analysis and space planning

1. Clear storage requirements

Cargo type: classified by size (length, width and height), weight, and turnover frequency.

Example: Light cartons (single box ≤ 20kg) can be stacked in 5 layers, and heavy steel (single piece ≥ 500kg) needs to be stored in a single layer.

In and out of storage mode: distinguish between first-in, first-out (FIFO) and random access.

Analogy: Food warehouses require FIFO layout to avoid expiration; mechanical parts warehouses can use random access to improve flexibility.

2. Warehouse space evaluation

Effective storage area: available area after deducting passages, fire protection facilities, and office areas.

Aisle width: determined according to the handling equipment (manual forklift ≥ 1.5m, electric forklift ≥ 2.5m).

Data: Every 0.5m reduction in the passage can increase the storage density by 10%-15%.

2. Layout optimization method

1. Dynamic partition strategy

Partition by turnover frequency:

High frequency area (Class A goods): near the entrance and exit, use mobile smart racks (such as gravity racks).

Low frequency area (Class C goods): far away from the entrance and exit, use fixed smart racks.

Partition by goods size:

Store goods of uniform specifications in a centralized manner to reduce space waste.

Example: All 1m×1m×1m cartons are concentrated in one area to avoid gaps due to size differences.

2. Three-dimensional stacking and channel optimization

Maximize vertical space:

According to the load-bearing capacity of the smart rack, reasonably set the number of stacking layers (usually 3-5 layers).

Case: A warehouse increased space utilization by 25% by adding 1 layer of stacking.

Narrow aisle design:

Using a three-way forklift or AGV (automatic guided vehicle), the channel width can be compressed to 1.8m.

3. Modular and scalable layout

Modular combination:

Use standard size racks (such as 1.2m×1m×2m) to adjust the layout according to needs.

Reserve space for expansion:

Reserve 10%-15% of open space at the edge of the warehouse for future expansion.
