How To Choose A High-quality Steel Pallet

I. Define the requirements: clarify 3 key scenario parameters
Load-bearing requirements: distinguish between dynamic load (when moving goods), static load (when stacking goods), and shelf load (when placing goods on shelves). Shelf load should be noted separately to avoid overloading and deformation.
Operating environment: for outdoor / damp environments, choose zinc-plated models; for workshops / dry environments, choose powder-coated models; for food / pharmaceutical scenarios, choose stainless steel or types without odor or paint layer peeling.
Handling method: for mechanical handling (forklift, ground tug), choose heavy-duty models; for manual handling with assistance, choose lightweight but structurally stable models (single weight ≤30kg).
II. Material screening: focus on "high-quality base material appropriate treatment"
Base material selection: prioritize Q235 or Q345 high-strength carbon steel, avoid ordinary thin iron sheets (can request manufacturers to provide material certificates).
Plate thickness: for 1-3 tons of load, choose panel 2.0-2.5mm, beam 3.0-4.0mm; for 3-5 tons of load, choose panel 2.5-3.0mm, beam 4.0-5.0mm, thickness is insufficient and easy to deform.
Surface treatment:
Galvanizing (hot dip galvanizing / electrogalvanizing): strong corrosion resistance, can be used outdoors for 3-5 years, hot dip galvanizing is more durable than electrogalvanizing (zinc layer thickness ≥80μm).
Spray paint: low cost, suitable for dry environments, need to choose environmental protection powder spraying (no pungent odor, uniform and non-peeling coating).
III. Structural design: focus on "stability practicality"
Load-bearing structure: beam spacing ≤80cm, the smaller the spacing, the more uniform the load, avoid goods sinking.
Add diagonal bracing or reinforcement ribs at the bottom, use folded edge design at the corners to enhance impact resistance (forklift operation often collides with corners).
Panel type: flat type: suitable for regular goods (carton, wooden box), load-bearing evenly.
Grid type: ventilation and moisture-proof, suitable for damp environments or irregular goods, need to confirm the grid aperture (≤5cm, to prevent small goods from falling).
Detail design: smooth and burr-free edges, avoid scratching goods or people. Forklift insertion width ≥12cm, depth ≥50cm, convenient for forklift insertion (compatible with mainstream forklift models).
