How To Choose High-quality Pallets

Key purchasing indicators checklist (regardless of material)
After determining the material please use the following checklist to assess the specific quality of the pallet:
1. Load-bearing capacity (the most critical!)
Dynamic load: The weight the pallet can bear during forklift movement.
Static load: The maximum weight the bottom pallet can bear during stacking.
Shelf load The weight the pallet can bear when placed in a beam-type rack (This value is much lower than the dynamic/static load). Be sure to confirm whether needs to be placed on a shelf.
Tips: Be sure to request clear, written load-bearing test reports from the supplier, not just verbal promises.
2. Size and structure
Size: Must match the size of your goods, shelves, and transport vehicles (such as containers). Standard sizes (e.g. 1200mm×1000mm) are more universal.
Structure:
Fork entry direction: Double-entry forks or-entry forks? Four-entry forks are more compatible and flexible to use.
Whether it is placed on a shelf: Pallets used for shelves must have reinforced steel tubes or reinforcement ribs design, otherwise it is extremely dangerous.
Bottom structure: Single-leg, square-leg, or nine-leg type Single-leg is best for forklifts and belt conveyors, square-leg is more evenly stressed, and nine-leg is suitable for manual forklifts.
3. Process and detail
Plastic pallets:
Raw materials: Is new material used? New material (>90%) far outperforms recycled material. Recycled material pallets are dull in color, have poor toughness, and are prone to breakage.
Process: Injectionolding (integral structure, high strength) vs. blow molding (hollow, lighter).
Wooden pallets:
Type of wood: Hard (such as fir, pine) or softwood?
Workmanship: Are the nails flush embedded? Is there any burr or crack? Is there an IPPCumigation mark (for export)?
Metal pallets: Check whether the welding is flat and firm, and there is no missing welding. Is the surface rustproof treatment (such as galvanizing, spraying) uniform.
